A series of posters should combine a recognizable character with a place for different content. It is worth preparing rules and variants that do not require further events or offers to design everything from the beginning.
Separate fixed and variable elements
Permanent can be the layout of the character, typography, way of distinguishing date and color ratio. Variables will be the subject, photograph, place and details. Division should result from the actual series, not from one of the easiest examples.
Collect several planned materials. Take into account the long title, different number of drivers or partners and different range of information. This will help prepare the template for the conditions that will appear during daily work.
Check variants before system approval
For example, a series of meetings may include a single speaker and an event with several people. A system running for one surname does not need to hold all the data without reducing the text. It is better to predict a separate, coherent variant than later to squeeze each new content.
Similarly, photographs can have different proportions and the amount of free space. Set the rules for framing and situations where a different graphic solution is needed.
Prepare the editorial instructions
The person updating the poster should know which fields are mandatory and how to check the data. A short list may include:
- the title and the appropriate name of the event;
- date, time and place;
- record or contact information;
- the current link and operation of the QR code;
- appropriate partner marks;
- control of the version intended for publication.
Do not copy the previous material without re-reading the entire content. The old term or address left is difficult to notice in a familiar layout.
Set the acceptance cycle and archive
Each poster should be marked with a version and confirmation of the data. Store the work materials separately from the finals. Prepare the variants according to their formats instead of automatically cutting the print.
The series can be varied if repetitive rules maintain its character. Read about the readability of a single poster in poster design, and about working on templates in identification in the team.
