What can we prepare?

01

Chapters and Searches

We organize topics, categories and filters. The user should find both new material and needed text from the archive.

02

Editorial and CMS

We determine the role of authors, the process of acceptance and publication. We select the content model to the actual materials and the way the team works.

03

Portal development

We plan to connect entries, new departments and integrations. We check the layout with long titles and more publications.

Implementation and further cooperation

Publishing without chaos.

The portal needs editorial rules, a readable directory of content and efficient access management. We set them together with the functions of the service.

01

Content architecture

Categories, types of publications, search engine and relationships between materials.

02

Editorial work

User roles, acceptance of texts and required publication fields.

03

Portal running

Overview of content updates, internal search results and service load.

Internet portal: the architecture of publications and editorial work

The portal requires a plan for the growing number of materials, authors and recipients. We design not only the main page, but also the principles of publication, search and maintenance of order in the archive.

Content types and their links

The article, event, profile of the author and catalogue entry have different fields and a different role. Splitting them in the panel facilitates editing and allows you to display information in different places without manual copying. We determine which data are mandatory and what materials look like without photo or event date.

Categories and tags should create a understandable system. Too many similar markings make it difficult to navigate the portal and manage content. We start with an example set of publications, where we check the structure, connections and planned views.

Editorial, acceptance and responsibility

The author can prepare sketches, the editor can improve the material, and the person entitled to decide about the publication. Not every user should have access to the settings of the entire portal. The roles are determined according to actual duties, taking into account replacements and termination of cooperation.

It is important to see the history of changes and to plan the publication. With several editors we check the situation of simultaneous editing of the same material. The archiving rules should allow to distinguish the content removed by mistake from the material consciously withdrawn from the publication.

Finding content and reading on your phone

The home page shows the selected resource fragment. The reader also needs readable categories, search engines and links to related materials. We determine how to distinguish new content from the most important and how the archive works. The result without matching should help change the query.

A long article requires convenient text width, logical headers and a stable image layout. Advertisements, plantings and multimedia should not push the text while reading. We also check users using keyboards and limiting animations.

Archive migration and load performance

Moving the portal includes content, authors, photos, dates and addresses. We test a sample of different types of materials, and after import compare the number and completeness of records. The redirection map helps to maintain access to older publications from external links.

The efficiency depends on how the data is downloaded, cached and the site's weight. The home page, search engine and article have other loads, so we measure them separately. The maintenance plan should include copies, monitoring and updating procedure without blocking the daily work of the editor.

Example: a portal with articles and events

The article needs an author, category and content, while the event also needs a deadline, place and information about the ending. A common panel may manage both types, but should not force the editor to enter the date of the event in an accidental paragraph.

After the date, the event can remain in the archive, with clear news. The related article or relationship leads to it through a simple link. Such model allows to build calendar and thematic lists from the same data. Before implementation we also check the cancellation, change of deadline and event covering several days.

Good start.

From Chatting
to a particular plan.

We set the goal, scope and way of receiving the work. We develop the project on the basis of agreed needs and materials.

What is worth preparing for the conversation?

  1. Examples of texts, photos and other publications
  2. Proposed sections and search method
  3. Roles of editors and publication principles

You don't have to have the specifications in place, and we'll work out the most important decisions together.

Before the first conversation

It's worth knowing.

Can editors have different powers?

Yes, the range of roles is determined when designing CMS. We discuss who prepares sketches, approves and publishes materials.

Do you serve projects outside Warsaw?

Yes, we cooperate with companies and organizations from all over Poland. Materials and decisions can be discussed remotely.

What should I prepare before the portal is valued?

Examples of publications, initial division of departments, team description and integrations needed, and the principles of access to content are important.

How to plan a portal with many authors?

We need a division of powers and responsibilities. We determine who creates, checks and publishes materials, what information is mandatory and how to correct or withdraw content.
