Page speed: from measurement to specific fix
The quick site should show the main content early, react efficiently and maintain a stable layout. The test result is a clue to the diagnosis rather than the sole purpose of the work.
What PageSpeed Insights Results Really Mean
PageSpeed Insights can show the actual user data and the laboratory result of Lighthouse. These are two different images of the site. The laboratory test reproduces certain conditions, and field data describe the experiences of visitors from different devices and connections. Small service may not have enough field data, despite the possibility of carrying out a laboratory test.
Core Web Vitals include LCP, which is the moment of displaying the main content, INP, i.e. responsiveness to interactions, and CLS, i.e. stability of the system. Good values are up to 2.5 seconds, 200 milliseconds and 0.1, respectively, when assessing 75th percentile of visits. We do not replace INP with a result of a single laboratory test.

First, we identify the most important element
On the main page, the biggest element can be a photo, and on the service subpage of the header or illustration. Other items require other fixes. We check the server response time, the download order and the moment when the viewer can display the main content.
If the problem is a large image, we select the format, compression and size for the device. When the delay is due to style or font sheets, we are working on how to deliver these resources. We do not enable the delayed charging for important graphics visible immediately.

Scripts and animations must be justified
Each additional widget, library and measurement tool means work for the browser. We check which resources are needed on a given subpage, and which are loaded only because they belong to a common template. The form, map or extended presentation can only start when needed.
Animations should stop outside the screen and respect the traffic limit setting. Buttons and forms must also react when the visual effect is ongoing. An important test is a weaker phone, on which the cost of JavaScript and frequent conversion of the layout become more visible than on the designer's computer.

Stable layout, cache and server
We reserve a space for images, videos and elements later on. This way, the content does not disengage when the user wants to click. We also check the impact of fonts and messages appearing after the page is launched.
The time of document generation, compression and proper cache headers are important on the server side. Long storage is useful for the uploaded static files, but should not accidentally include private data or user panel. The configuration is adapted to the actual hosting. The result of the local work server does not automatically reflect the production configuration.

Verification of the amendment and protection against regression
We compare the same page under similar conditions, saving the range of changes and results. In addition to numbers, we check the operation of menus, forms, gallery and mobile version. Improvement of scoring has no value if it has been achieved by removing the needed function or hiding the relevant content.
After major changes, it is worth re-testing representative templates: main page, service, article and form. The actual visit data changes gradually. We determine who controls new materials and accessories so that the heavy film or external script does not restore the previous problem. Efficiency requires maintaining as much as content and security.
