The picture may build the character of the poster, but it should not make it difficult to read the most important information. The design requires checking contrast, composition and actual text size.
Select a location for the message
Not every good picture is a good background for the header. Face, small details or highly varied light can compete with letters. When selecting photographs, check the space needed for the title, term and signature of the organizer.
If the frame does not leave such a place, you can change the layout or separate the text from the photo. You do not need to apply all the information on the photograph at all costs.
Check the contrast in the entire row
The writing can be readable on one piece of the image, and fade a few centimetres away. The shadow under the letters does not always solve this problem. It helps calmer staff, uniform field under the text or consciously dim the selected area.
Avoid effects that only look good on enlarged previews. Contours and thin details can make it difficult to recognize letters in the finished material.
Sort Layers of Information
- The most important message should have its own space.
- The term and place must remain easy to find.
- Additional information should not cross relevant elements of the photo.
- Logotypes should be placed against a background that ensures their readability.
For example, an event poster can use dynamic staff in the upper part, and organizational data on a quiet field below. This is a way of dividing content rather than a universal template.
Rate the finished format
Prepare the preview in the target proportions and try to print the corresponding fragment. Check if the message can be read quickly without the project knowledge. If you also need a version for the internet, reset the frame and text for its dimensions.
