A minor update may require some unnecessary messages if the notification is unclear. A good description of the change allows you to improve the page efficiently and check the result without mistakes in dates, files or publication range.
Indicate exactly where and the expected result
Instead of the message “please change the offer” please enter the address of the subpage and a part to replace. Join the approved text, and if the change concerns several places, write it out. The updater should not guess whether the new information is to be found on the main page.
It is worth distinguishing the immediate publication and the change prepared for a specific date. In the event or promotion, please also specify the ending moment if the content after it is to disappear or be marked as archival.
Pass a set of materials
The image sent as a miniature in the communicator may not be sufficient for a large illustration. A file called “new2final” does not help to recognize the correct version. Set a simple way of forwarding attachments and accepting.
- Page address and section name.
- Final text or description of the expected correction.
- Appropriate files with location information.
- The time limit and the person approving the preview.
If the performer is also to edit the content or prepare the graphics, check this separately. The scope of such work may differ from the usual inserting of the finished material.
Check change in context
After publication, open a page on your computer and phone. The new text may be longer, the image is otherwise cropped, and the link leads to the wrong file. It is also worth checking related items, such as the list of news or preview of the release.
Keep a short record of updates made
A list of dates, addresses and scopes of changes helps to determine what has been published and whether the material requires subsequent withdrawal.
