Two similarly named pages may include a completely different range of work. See what should be included in the price list and how to compare offers of contractors.
Package name does not describe the entire project
When looking at the price lists of website design in Warsaw, it is worth first checking what the contractor understands by the company website. The offer may concern adaptation of the finished layout or individual design, implementation itself or content preparation. Without this information, the amount given is difficult to compare.
Pay attention to the units. Five subpages can mean five separate projects or several entries using one template. “Formulator” can be a simple contact or multi-stage tool with attachments and integration. Ask for an example if the description does not allow you to assess the scope.
Separate performance from materials and maintenance
The cost of the project may include photos, editing texts, translations, licenses and later maintenance. Determine which elements are provided by the company, and which contractor. The material supplied in an inappropriate form also requires work: shortening the text, arranging tables or preparing graphics.
Save the costs separately after startup. Hosting, domain, updates and feature development do not have to be included in the same price. It is not about choosing a package containing the most items, but about understanding which costs apply to your service.
Example of range comparison
In the first offer the customer provides ready-made texts and photographs. The second provides an interview, editorial of five descriptions and processing of materials. Even with a similar look on the pages, the work effort will be different. In the comparison table enter the result of each item and the responsibility assigned to it.
The agreed revision of the project is different from adding a new module after approval of the scope. It is worth determining the time of acceptance and the way changes are valued before there are divergent expectations.
What questions to ask before choosing?
- Does the price include individual project and mobile version?
- Who prepares lyrics, images and basic metadata?
- What functions can you edit on your own in CMS?
- What do the tests, publications and post-launch assistance include?
- How are additional subpages and new functions cleared?
For the first comparison, just a brief description of the purpose, function list and information about available materials.
