With a similar assortment, the customer needs clear differences. Comparison should be based on common parameters, understandable names and data that really affect the choice.
Start with questions when choosing
Check between which products the buyer hesitates. Does the difference apply to size, application, compatibility or equipment? If you do not know the answer, the extended table can only transfer the disorder from the directory to the next screen.
Collect a few real product pairs and ask for support to explain differences. This is good material for the design of names and parameters. Do not just choose model examples with complete data; also include harder cards.
Sort Parameters Before Interface
The same features should have consistent names, units and way of writing. No data means honestly, instead of automatically replacing it with zero or finding that the attribute does not exist. This is different information.
For example, when comparing two devices, it is worth distinguishing the lack of a confirmed parameter from the actual lack of a given function. If the store cannot verify the difference, it should improve the data at the source and not add a more favourable answer.
Select a form to the folder scale
Not every store needs a separate comparison tool. Sometimes it takes a clear list of features on the cards and a short selection guide. A more extensive interface makes sense when customers regularly combine several models according to a common set of criteria.
Check:
- selection and removal of products from comparison;
- maintaining long names;
- a view of the significant differences;
- support for empty parameters;
- phone readability;
- return to the selected model card.
Check the decision, not just the table
In the attempt, ask the recipient to choose the product for the specified need. Watch if he understands the parameters and can justify the decision. If he still needs a translation of each name, the layout of the columns itself has not solved the problem. Helpful materials concern product fiches and directory filtering.
