The basket should help you check your order and understand further steps. Information on variants, availability and delivery method must be consistent with the product card and handling process.
Show what has been selected
The customer should recognize the product, variant and number of pieces. If the names are similar, the additional parameter or appropriate photo helps to avoid confusion. Changing the quantity and removing the position must have a clear reaction.
For example, the choice of size and colour on the product card should also remain visible in the basket. The general title itself does not allow to check whether the right variant has been placed in the order.
Explain the available means of implementation
The delivery methods may depend on the product, area or content of the order. The design should take into account these dependencies and inform why the option is not available. Do not show the customer an identical list if the system later rejects some of the choices.
If the store from Warsaw offers a reception at the real point, distinguish it from the shipment and describe the agreed rules. The address indication does not replace the information when the order is ready to receive.
Keep a clear summary
The changes should be visible before the final confirmation. If the cost or availability needs to be clarified, the message must explain the situation. Detailed rules should be agreed according to the offer and obligations of the store and then reflected in the interface.
Test:
- change in quantity and variant;
- removal of the last item;
- no available method for the set;
- return to the directory;
- reading the summary on your phone;
- moving to the next stage without losing data.
Check consistency with the facilities
The information shown to the buyer should correspond to what the implementation team will receive. If the employee must guess the selected point or variant, the process design needs to be improved.
Receipt does not end with the look of the basket. Make trial orders according to agreed scenarios. See procurement organisation and communication after purchase.
