The new application often replaces sheets or an older system. Before implementing, you need to determine which data to move, how to check their correctness and how to move on to daily work.
Identify data sources and owners
Write the sheets, databases, documents and systems used by the team. At each source, indicate the person who can explain the meaning of the fields. Two columns with a similar name may contain other information, and the lack of description makes it difficult to safely combine resources.

- a map of the fields of the old and new system;
- the rules for conversion of values;
- the way in which errors and exceptions are handled;
- reception criteria;
- moment of limitation of changes in the old tool;
- return procedure in case of failure.
Plan your first days of work
Find out where the user reports non-compliance and who settles the doubts. Keep the agreed source documentation and migration. Do not disable the old solution without confirming that the new process is working and the information needed is available.
